Parent Workshops

Updated: Nov 2, 2018

The Watford CSE Trust Mental Health Project ran three Mental Wellbeing Workshops for parents of Year 5 & Year 6 students at three schools between October 18th-22nd. Each 1-hour session hosted at the schools included the parent workshop hosted in a classroom, and a free taster EMPOWER session for Year 5 & 6 students.

The aims of these workshops are to

-              Increase parent’s knowledge of Mental Health in Children and Support Services

-              Increase confidence & develop problem solving solutions for parents

-              Provide knowledge on the curriculum of Positive Minds and EMPOWER sessions

-              Facilitate a Q&A session for parents.

A big thanks you to the following schools who hosted these sessions

  • St Katherine of Sienna

  • Bromet School

  • Laurence Haines School

We received positive feedback from the school, parents and students who attended, and we are looking to work with the schools and other schools to deliver more parent workshops in the new year.
