First Ever Coach The Approach Event

The first ever Positive Minds; Coach the Approach event took place on Tuesday 28th May in the Media Suite at Vicarage Road Stadium. The 3 hour workshop was attended by coaches from Kings Langley FC youth sector, and there was even a representative from the Hertfordshire FA who came along to attend. The event was a great success and we look forward to hosting more sessions in the future!

Coach the Approach sessions are aimed at grassroots football coaches and educate them on supporting young people and their mental wellbeing. The aims of the workshops are to:

  • Develop an understanding of how to communicate and how coaching practices may effect a child’s mental health

  • Learn techniques to best support those you are coaching

  • Develop knowledge around mental health in sport

  • How to signpost appropriately and effectively

  • The role of the coach and relationship management

Our next session is taking place on Thursday 20th June 2019 for St Albans City Youth Coaches, click here to sign up.
